QC Select | 7 on 7

Welcome to QC Select, a 7-on-7 program built on the concept of preparation. The tide has turned for the worse when it comes to the 7-on-7 circuit and shifted away from its original purpose, to prepare for the real season. I have no affiliation with any high schools, Pop Warner cities, or parents, so there will be no favorites. I am here to develop kids and get them ready for their upcoming season. They will be fully prepared to showcase their skills for their future coaches. This team is based in Orange County, with practices held at Esperanza High School, and tournaments will be played throughout Orange County.

Teams:

I plan to have three teams: 12U, 14U, and High School. Please feel free to try out even if you are between ages. I will form an 11U and 13U team if I have enough kids. Teams are based on the athlete's age as of January 1, 2026.

Schedule:

My schedule for this team includes one mid-week practice a week, an hour and fifteen minutes, with two tournaments per month starting in January. This is a two-and-a-half-month commitment, no more. Tryouts will take place in early December, with practices starting the following week. I will host practices one day a week. I know a lot of kids play flag, so we will have Fridays off. We will have a two-week break for Christmas and New Year’s, and it will end by March. 4vert usually starts around this time, and teams start to lose players by this point.

Development stems from coaching and practice. Playing in a tournament every weekend is tiring, expensive, and most importantly, does not develop kids. Practices will have three coaches to ensure kids are being developed and receive proper coaching at practices.

Affordability:

All that will be required from you is payment for uniforms, practice, and tournament fees. I have heard too many stories of families forced to pay in the four figures for a fee to join a team. We will have extra gear (Hoodies, shorts, sweats, etc.), but it will all be optional.

Scheme:

We will be running a version of the air raid offense. It is designed to use all five eligible receivers and spread the ball around. We are not going to throw it up to one kid or run plays that would never be run in a real football game. Quarterbacks will switch off every drive, and receivers will rotate throughout the drive.

Why Should You Play for Us?

If you’re looking for a team that travels the country, wins by any means necessary, and has a $500 “swag pack”, this isn’t the team for you. Now, if you want your kid to develop, get taught schemes by a former college quarterback, and get them ready for their season, come check us out. My vision is to get kids ready for high school with real football lessons. This is why the season for my team will be over by March, so kids can go play for their future high school’s 4Vert team.
